Panelo to Alejano: Plant Trees, Not Lies

Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Sec. Salvador Panelo has advised Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano to plant trees in his province (Negros Occidental), instead of spreading lies against President Rodrigo Duterte.

Panelo’s text message to the reporters came after Alejano’s impeachment complaint against Duterte was junked by the Congress on Monday.

“Tell him to plant trees in his province to protect our environment instead of creating a forest of lies against the President,” he said in a text message to reporters.

The House junked Alejano’s complaint against the President because it was “insufficient in substance.”

Malacañang earlier said that the impeachment rap was meant to undermine the elected President. It also stressed that Duterte did not interfere in the work of the other branches of government.

Alejano, together with Sen. Antonio Trillanes are among the staunchest critics of Duterte. Both public officials are members of Magdalo – a group young officers who seized the Oakwood hotel during the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Gary Alejano is from Sipalay City, Negros Occidental. He ran for City mayor but lost before representing Magdalo in the House of Representatives. /Joseph Nuestro/Note: Articles posted here at are written exclusively for this website only.
