Inspiring: Former Janitor Passes Bar Exams

Ramil Comendador worked as janitor in the office of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) from 2007 to 2010, passed the 2016 bar exams. Comendador 35, said he couldn’t believe he made it at no.

“Napakaswerte ko po,” Ramil Comendador said. “Di ko nga po alam kung paano ko pasasalamatan ang Panginoon talaga at yung mga taong nagbigay ng lakas sa akin,” he added.

“I am number 914,” the former janitor said while referring to the list of passers. “Sana po wala akong kapangalan,” he quipped.

Ramil Comendador shared that he started working in the private sector after graduating from high school. He later got married and had two kids, now ages eight and four.

From 2007 to 2010, he worked as a janitor in Comelec. He then took the civil service eligibility exam and he was admitted as the legal researcher of the commission.

Ramil Comendador enrolled in a law school in 2011 and using his salary in Comelec, he got to pay his tuition. He noted that his wife, who’s an engineer, helped him, especially in their household expenses.

Comendador shared that he got sick and was hospitalized while taking his review for the bar. But his condition did not stop him from pursuing his dreams.

He also revealed that he needed to rent a room near his house so he can concentrate reviewing for the bar.
